Slow-Flow

The slow-flow class focuses on increasing strength and flexibility to either get you going in the morning or let go at the end of your day. We will be holding poses longer and matching our breath with our movements. A typical flow class has a breath for each movement. I tend to shy away because I want everyone to stay in alignment by slowing down and taking several breaths between poses. That said, we will be working on the foundations of arm balances, backbends, head, and handstands in this class. This class is a multi-level class that will provide you tools to work on poses that will build strength and flexibility to get into more challenging poses. To be successful in these more complex poses, it takes time and a commitment to be on your mat each day, working on the foundations or the posture you are trying to master.

Beginners

The beginners class is for individuals who are new to yoga or have been away for a while and need a refresher. In this class, we will focus on you finding your pose. All while working on understanding the names, purpose, proper alignment, and benefits of each pose. The pace of the class allows us to move from one pose to another, all while staying in proper alignment.

Gentle

The gentle class is for students who want to restore and build strength at a slower pace. We will stay in our poses longer in this class and incorporate prana/breath while being in the pose. This class I set up to relax and restore you. In a gentle class, you will find your edge and then back away a bit to allow the body to respond and relax. We are allowing the nervous system to tell your muscles to lengthen and release while in the pose.

Gentle Chair

The gentle chair class is for students who are working toward getting off the floor and balance. This class is for students experiencing a loss in their range of motion due to work habits, long hours in inferior positions, or an injury that has taken a toll on their bodies. Our bodies may need a little more TLC, and this is the class to provide a little extra attention to those areas.
